Bought this Nice car from a gentleman off of craiglist with a transmission problem. I repaired it and let my girlfriend drive it.

Symptoms;

When place into drive it was slow to engage in Drive and would rev-up before the car would move forward. Once the car did start to move the car would quit moving after the transmission reach operation temperature.

Problem;

Upon inspection when the transmission pan was remove there was metal inside the pan which came from the torque converter. The torque converter was bad. A bad torque converter would cause the symptoms of  above.

Also the pump of the transmission was damage and the direct and reverse clutches were burnt. The tcc and Afv located in the valve body were damage.

Solutions;

Added a 5L40e master rebuild kit with high energy frictions (Alto), replaced the pump, added a new torque converter, and a new valve body.
