Owner was traveling from Denver back to hom in Chicago, when his suburban stop shifting and moving forward. He called me on a Sunday and was surprised I answered the phone. He explain that he was stuck in Atchinson Ks, and needed a emergency repair. He was a hour away from where I perform all my transmission duties. I sent  a tow truck to pick him up and within three days he was on the road again headed back home.

 

Symptom;

Car would not move forwards only had reverse;

Issue;

The forward pistion in the the 1-2-3-4-r drum had cracked causing fluid pressure lose causing the pistion not to apply.

Solution;

replaced the entire drum assemble from GM and adding rebuild kit
