Owner of this car gave me a called after picking up his car from the dealership because their quote to replace the transmission was outside of his budget. The Mustang was towed to me to have it evaluated and repaired.

The car would not move at all, All forward and reverse gears were gone. Which told me that something had broken inside the transmission causing the car not to move. The 5r55s that comes equipped in this car has many common problems that I have experienced.

The transmission needed to be remove from the Mustang and rebuild to get the car running and shifting smooth again.

Symptom;

Mustang would not move forward or backwards when placed into drive or reverse

Problem;

The 5r55s over drive one way sprag  was broken. (see pic)

Solution;

replace sprag with upgraded sprag, instill a rebuild kit with new clutches, and had trans go shift kit for better performance.
