Owner of this car was having trouble with shifting issues. The transmission is actually a 4t65 hd which has a higher gear ratio for the big 5.3 engine that it mounts too. In my opinion I believe that this should have been a rear wheel drive car. The engine is to powerful for a front drive set up. I see these set-ups fail all the time, and the only way I would touch one is if the customer always me to upgrade the transmission.

Symptoms;

Not shifting properly; no second gear in normal drive, had to use the manual shift to get through all the gears.

Issues;

The second house drum clutches and steels where destroyed, also the lower band was burnt along with the 3rd gear clutches.

Solutions;

added a master rebuild kit with high energy frictions, added a Transgo correction kit to for better performance, new torque converter, and replace the epc  solenoid.
